SMC introduced the Cycle to Work and Office

Cycle2work&Office: As we all know SMC had participated in the Ministry Of Health & Ministry Of Housing and Urban Affairs' challenge 'Freedom To Run, Walk & Cycle' in January. It is known that Surat city consists of numerous fitness enthusiasts; many of them find time from their busy schedules & use SMC-provided cycling corridors & jogging/walking tracks to stay fit. To make fitness a core value of our city, Surat Municipal Corporation has introduced a new initiative, Cycle to Work & Office. SMC has installed many bike stations near local BRTS stations to promote clean & green individual/public inter-city transport.

Cycling to your Shop and Office Benefits:

Let's have a brief look at them.

●      Solo travel lowers the risk of COVID contamination.

●       Cycling saves parking & fuel expenses.

●       It's good for the environment and decreases our carbon footprints.

●       Cycling is a good cardiovascular exercise that keeps you fit, reduces stress, keeps your heart healthy & helps you get a better quality of sleep.

●       It's easy to avoid traffic jams while riding a bicycle, making your daily commute swift.

●       Fitness becomes a part of your routine, making your time management more efficient.

●       Forms a good habit of going out, exploring & strolling freely in a natural environment.

●       Cycling daily makes you smarter by increasing one's cognitive abilities & work efficiency.

As you can see, cycling provides many benefits for an individual in particular & the environment in general. So, when are you starting to cycle to work/office?
